Worked calculation
Result: A 250 mL cylinder contains about 8.45351 US fl oz or 8.79877 imperial fl oz.

Fluid ounces are volume
A fluid ounce measures space, not mass. An ounce on a kitchen scale is a unit of mass or weight; converting between the two requires the material’s density. This page therefore labels every output “fl oz”.
Keep the full precision of intermediate values and round only the final display. This avoids compounding error when a derived radius or converted unit is used in another step.

US and imperial definitions
The two fluid ounces are close but not equal. Select the standard used by the recipe, package or jurisdiction. Mixing them can create noticeable errors when several servings are combined.
The calculator validates physical limits before displaying a result. Blank or impossible inputs never produce a stale value, NaN or Infinity.
03 • Guide
Use internal dimensions
Drinkware and tubes are often specified by external size. Capacity depends on the interior radius and usable height, and decorative bases or a fill line can reduce the practical amount.
Interpretation
How to use the result responsibly
The answer models an ideal geometric cylinder. Manufacturing tolerances, wall thickness, rounded ends, deformation, tank tilt and measurement uncertainty can all shift a real value. Use inside dimensions for capacity and outside dimensions for occupied space. For safety, compliance, dosing, structural or purchasing decisions, compare the estimate with drawings, calibration data or a qualified professional.
Dimensional checks help catch mistakes: a volume result must carry cubic units, an area result square units and a derived radius or height linear units. If changing one unit alters the represented physical size, a conversion step was missed.
