About Cylinder Atlas
Geometry should be inspectable
Cylinder Atlas pairs answers with formulas, graphs, unit logic and physical limits so visitors can check—not merely trust—the output.
Purpose
We built this site for students, makers, technicians and anyone estimating an ideal cylindrical shape. The tools cover direct volume, hollow material, tank fill, inverse dimensions, surface area, unit conversion and geometric comparisons.
The name, code and explanatory copy are original to this project. We do not claim affiliation with a school, standards body, manufacturer or the reference site used for the initial visual brief.
Calculation method
How results are produced
- Each linear input is converted to metres with an exact defined factor where one exists.
- Pure math functions apply
Math.PI, guard physical domains and keep full floating-point precision. - The result is converted from cubic metres to the selected output unit.
- Only the displayed value is rounded—up to six fractional digits for ordinary magnitudes, with scientific notation at extremes.
Linked radius and diameter fields represent the same physical length even when their selectors use different units. Blank, negative, non-finite and impossible dimensions clear the result rather than leaving a stale answer.
Limitations
What this site does not promise
These are educational and estimation tools, not certified vessel gauges, engineering drawings or professional advice. Real objects may have rounded ends, wall thickness, fittings, deformation, thermal expansion and measurement uncertainty. Results are not a substitute for manufacturer data or applicable standards.
We do not guarantee search rankings, rich-result eligibility, advertising approval, inbox delivery or perfect field performance scores. The site reserves clear space for future advertising but does not disguise empty ad areas as controls.
